As of Monday November 16th 2020, CUPE locals 65 and 4807 will be sharing a office space at 390 McIrvine Road in Fort Frances. The two locals have been discussing the concerns our members have had with health and safety at our old location. Both 65 and 4807 had decided it was time for a change, and realized by pooling resources and coming together we could foster solidarity between two locals, as well as enhance the ability of both executives to ensure the health and safety of our members at a new location.
Mitch Carlson of local 4807 has been instrumental in securing a new location for the joint office and it has been a pleasure working with him to see this through. As of Monday our new office will be up and running, and we look forward to using it to better support our membership.
Obviously due to the pandemic in person meetings will still be on hold, but I look forward to the day we are able to all come together at our new office and return to the regular in person meetings we once had, until then stay safe and stay healthy local 65.
In Solidarity
Ryan Flamand
Vice President CUPE 65
